It’s April and that means Easter is here. This is a great time of year to brush up on our skills in the kitchen. For the Elite Marketing Interactions family, I am excited to introduce the new Elite Culinary Certification Program that will be rolled out to all employees.
We’ve partnered with Meijer to upgrade our event capabilities by offering a basic kitchen and beyond approach to the event program and be viewed by Meijer as partners representing Meijer’s Own Brand as well as National Brand products. The enhancement program includes:
- Proper food handling and safety
- Culinary terminology
- Cooking techniques
- Plate presentation
- Proper seasonality and food storage for produce
- Introduction to food nutrients found in fruits and vegetables
The certification teaches specific selling techniques, how to bring customers to the event carts and how to teach others.
The certification training began on March 5th with all District and Area Managers participating in a three-day class where they earned their Chef Assistant Diploma. Elite will continue to rollout the program to all Meijer stores through the Elite Culinary Trainer. The Culinary Trainer will work with Meijer’s Chef Ray and team to ensure the training is continual and fresh.
Moving forward, all EMI Sales Advisors will be participating in the Culinary Certification Program to enhance their demonstration capabilities. This training program enables EMI Sales Advisors to gain the necessary knowledge to execute events that represent a superior level of quality. Be sure to look for more information from your manager.
